ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Kerry, the person behind Somecuts Over the Rainbow.

Somecuts started because I was forever being asked to make gifts for my three daughters to give to friends for birthdays and celebrations. I loved the idea of creating something a little different — something you couldn't just pick up from a shop and risk somebody else turning up with exactly the same thing.

And if I could personalise it especially for the person receiving it? Even better.

What started with making gifts for friends and family gradually turned into Somecuts Over the Rainbow, and these days you'll usually find me tucked away in my craft cabin surrounded by an ever-growing collection of machines, materials and half-finished ideas that I absolutely needed to try. 

I make a huge variety of handmade and personalised gifts, including light-up shadowboxes, cake toppers, drinkware, stickers, personalised keepsakes, children's activity books and seasonal gifts — with new ideas appearing fairly regularly because apparently I am incapable of just sticking to one thing.

When you order from Somecuts, you're not ordering from a huge company or warehouse.

You're ordering from me.

I'm the person who receives your order, makes your item, answers your messages, packs your parcel and gets ridiculously excited when something I've made is heading off to another part of the country.

I know finding the right gift can sometimes be difficult, particularly when you're buying for someone who seems to have everything. That's why I love being able to personalise so many of my products and I'm always happy to chat about an idea if you can't quite find what you're looking for.

📮 The Great UK Postcode Mission

I also have a slightly ridiculous ongoing mission:

I want to send a Somecuts order to as many UK postcodes as possible.

Every time an order comes through from somewhere new, I do a little dance.

My daughters then look at me as though I've finally lost the plot.

At this point, they're never entirely sure whether I've received an exciting new order or their mother has actually cracked. 🤣

Somecuts Over the Rainbow has grown far beyond those first gifts I made for my daughters' friends, but the reason I love doing it hasn't really changed.

I still get a huge amount of satisfaction from making something that's going to become part of someone's birthday, Christmas, celebration, memorial or simply a gift that says I saw this and thought of you.

Every order, message, recommendation, social media share and returning customer supports my little business, and I'm incredibly grateful for all of them.
